Discover your inner performer with SPARC’s Adult Education Programs. Whether you’re stepping on stage for the first time or looking to sharpen your existing skills, our classes are designed to challenge, inspire, and connect.

Join us for engaging in-person sessions in improv, stage combat, Shakespeare, and more- all taught by SPARC’s experienced Teaching Artists.

Intro to Improv

WHEN: July 21st-22nd @ 6:30-8:00pm

WHERE: SPARC Studio, 2172 Railroad Avenue, Livermore, CA

WHO: Adults ages 18+

 PRICE: $50

Get a sneak peek into the world of improv and what to expect in the upcoming season of improv classes for adults from SPARC. The teaching artist for SPARC’s improv series is award-winning teaching artist and improviser Mark Duncanson. Part of the adult improv series to continue throughout the winter and fall at SPARC Theater.

Adult Improv | Chapter 1: Foundation Building

Description: Participants in this class will learn the basic building blocks of improv by engaging in warm-ups, improv games, scene work and fun conversations. Improv is all about fun, celebrating mistakes, being supportive, and going for it! This session ends with a culminating in-class showcase for family and friends.

6 Classes | 2 hours each class | $191 each

  • Prompts, taking care of the audience

Adult Improv | Chapter 2: Long-Form

Description: Participants in this class will build on the basics of improv and learn how to create completely improvised plays. This is a truly unique and rewarding experience! This session ends with a culminating in-class showcase for family and friends.

  • Using school, personal, work, life and culture for character and relationship work on stage

Adult Improv | Chapter 3: Long- Form Genre Work

Description: Participants in this class will level up on improv and acting for the stage when they learn to use different genres as an added storytelling technique. Participants will workshop genres like sci-fi, fantasy, mystery, and more. This session ends with a culminating in-class showcase for family and friends.
